This gem of a home replaced one of several small cottages on this seasonally enjoyed family compound. The owners wanted a high-end home that would fit within the allowable building envelope. From a design standpoint, the owners and architect could not have done a better job.
From the exterior design to the well-thought-out floor plan to the detailing inside and out, this home packs a lot into a small footprint. A wrap-around deck off the master bedroom, a full basement, and a refurbished relocated “she-shed” all add to making this home a great summer retreat. The generous use of large windows provides spectacular water views and makes the home feel light and airy.
Upon entering the home from the front door, you find a well-appointed kitchen to the right and the living room to the left with expansive water views. Entering from the back door takes you into the mudroom and laundry area with access to the master suite to the left and the kitchen to the right. The master suite, which can also be entered from the living room, could not be more enjoyable.
The bedroom portion is just the right size and takes in all the incredible water views. The private deck is the perfect place to have morning coffee or watch the sunset. The master bath has a large tiled shower with high windows, a private commode, and his and hers sinks. The upstairs guest suite encompasses a bedroom with an ensuite bath.
A low wall at the top of the stairs allows guests to share in the incredible water views from their private suite. Off the kitchen are the stairs down to the daylight basement. More large windows make this water view space a great place to work on projects, along with providing generous storage. A pair of doors make it easy to get larger items in and out when needed.
Finished off with just the right amount of landscaping, this home really came together. This was another great owner and builder collaboration. Broad Cove Builders much appreciated the opportunity to be a part of this project.
